what we did:
Washed it a few times
Replaced skirt
Added underskirt with netting for a fuller look
Removed torn sleeves
Cut neck down to V instead of boatneck
Added trim and detailing to bodice front

we washed the dress and removed the over skirt as it was torn and stained.
we relined the sleeves, removing the desintingrating under arm fabric.
replaced the cumberbund with fabric that matches the lace bodice
and added the netting over skirt.
replaced zipper
the condition now is very good!

This lovely dress was not in very
good shape when it was brought to us and we weren’t sure it could be saved but we gave it a try any way, and I’m
glad we did!
The first thing we did was wash
it a few times, this helped a lot!
Then I removed the red ruffle.
Removed all the old broken boning.
Refitted the bodice, as it had been
made bigger at some point.
Added new boning to bodice front
Fixed a few minor tears in the netting
with clear thread.
Covered the bodice with pink netting.
Covered the midriff with matching
off white lace.
Added pink bows to skirt and bodice.

& White 1950 Prom Dress
It is about a modern size
8-10, it fits our vintage size 12 dress form nicely. still has the silver sequins on skirt.
It has a back zip, and
the bodice is fully lined.
